It’s that time of year again when everyone starts ramping up for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanza. The commercialization of these holidays, particularly Christmas can make your head spin.
Let’s all take deep breaths and try not to get angry and anxious at our fellow humans, even when they do cut you off while trying to get to the mall! A positive development is the ability to order gifts on line and avoid the crush of the crowds. However, some of us still like to see merchandise and clothes in person before buying. I find it’s best to not feed off of other people’s anxious energy by staying focused on the task at hand. Try to find alternative times to shop in stores if the crowds are getting to you. Also giving time to others by volunteering can give you great joy.
Remember the true importance of the holidays you are celebrating. Material things should not take center stage in what are supposed to be spiritual/religious holidays. Enjoy family and friends that provide comfort and a good laugh from all the running around. Give thanks for all that is good in your life!
Reconnect to your spiritual and physical self by using acupuncture to de-stress. Acupuncture induces the relaxation response which decreases blood pressure and pulse rate. Acupuncture increases blood and energy circulation so that you will feel revived and ready to tackle the stressors of the day.
A gift certificate for an acupuncture treatment is a great healthy gift. Happy Holidays everyone!
