Today is the first day of Spring, full of promise for the future. In the next month or two trees and flowers will begin budding. It is amazing to me that every year we see the smallest bud become a beautiful bloom.
In TCM the organ that governs upward and outward growth is the liver. It also represents the element of wood. If the energy of the liver is restricted or constricted, a person may have feelings of frustration, anxiety and often sighs with hope for relief. If the liver energy becomes further congested, physical symptoms include a lump in the throat, ribside discomfort, shortness of breath and indigestion. A person may also have excess muscle tension of the neck and shoulders.
Spring is the perfect time to re-harmonize your body with several acupuncture treatments. It is particularly helpful to those of you who suffer from asthma and allergies.
Acupuncture can remove constraint, decrease tension, harmonize digestion and provide you with more focused energy. If you are suffering with allergies, it will increase the immune system and decrease symptomatic reactions such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes and sinus congestion.
